As a young child, I came burdened in this world with Saturn on my back. I felt that adults always spoke to me like I was their peer. I was exposed to reality very early. It seemed there were no boundaries with children in my world. I knew very early I was different but had no words to describe what was unique. I had no one to pay attention to me that closely. I lived in shadows and also shamelessly in the lime light. I felt there was no in between, it was either I was living vicariously through the people around me or I was behind the scenes waiting to be noticed. This inconsistency gave me room to experiment on what I could get away with. A child with barely enough one on one time was dangerous. I grew up in Philadelphia, different areas but they all seemed the same to me. Underfunded public schools, unsupervised fun, and mischievous boredom roamed around me and I participated. I knew right from wrong but once it became so easy for me to explore, I never stopped.

I always felt a presence with me as a child. I would often be interested in paranormal activity and listened to stories. I wanted to know if it was real. It seemed like every house we moved to had been haunted. Growing up adopted into a family, my differences were always highlighted. I had no examples of my kin around me until my mother decided I needed to spend time with my birth family in Detroit, Michigan. Then the spirit became stronger, it's almost as if the familiarity became a comfort. I finally had models around me, I could see my future through them. Still, there was still an emptiness I felt up until I finally had an answer for who my actual father was. The cloudiness about who I was began to fade.
I excelled at being bossy and creative. My home life could be pretty joyous when it wasn't so stressful. I had to create a utopia in my mind often as a child. The television made me feel like the shows I watched could be my home life too. I escaped often with books or making videotapes with my dolls. I was extremely social, always having some friend over. I had no issues making friends. I spent a bunch of time at my mom's friends' homes when she would have emergencies with her children. Most of the time I would be a guest, this made me become envious and enraged. I didn't know it, but I couldn't stand being around other people's happiness.

Growing up in a strict religious setting that gave me a sense that I was missing out on life. I yearned for normalcy. Whenever I had a moment of depression as a child, I would feel very alone and often questioned when would it all end? When this confusion turned into anger, I started to develop a voice inside me that told me right from wrong. I always listened even when I thought I was just insane. It gave me comfort. I didn't understand how people could have imaginary friends. I watched "Drop Dead Fred" as a kid and tried to see something, hoping an image would appear. It wouldn't be successful, so I just consistently let the voice guide me. It felt like a grandmother. I often would imagine how grandparents could be if I had them. It brought me security. The voice became my family.
Fast forward to me being pregnant in 2015, I finally got all the confirmations from my childhood. After visiting a psychic, I had been told that there is a spirit that had always been beside me, guiding me. She is my protector and has been influencing me for a long time. I felt so grateful knowing that those lonely nights where I felt like a lost soul, I had comfort the whole time, just like I knew. Every paranormal encounter never became so scary I couldn't stand it because the whole time I had a light force right beside me. It came to a point I realized I had nothing to fear. My grandmother was there and I grew to know it was even more spirits beside me. I had an innate sense of protection and reassurance, something that held my hand for a long time.
"After visiting a psychic, I had been told that there is a spirit that had always been beside me, guiding me."
