Let Out That Inner Child They’re Craving To Live Life

As a young child, I came into this world already carrying Saturn on my back. Adults spoke to me like I was their equal, long before I even knew what childhood was supposed to feel like. There were no boundaries, no cushioning, no soft corners. I learned reality early and deeply.
I always felt like I lived in two extremes—either in the shadows being overlooked, or right in the center of the spotlight with no room to breathe. There was never an in-between. I was either watching life happen around me or trying to perform my way into feeling seen.
Growing up in Philadelphia, the neighborhoods changed but the energy didn’t—underfunded schools, unsupervised fun, boredom that led to mischief, and too much freedom for a child with a wild imagination. I knew right from wrong, but once exploring became easy, I never stopped.

A Spirit That Followed Me Everywhere
Even as a child, I felt a presence with me—watchful, protective, familiar.
I was obsessed with ghost stories, paranormal experiences, anything that hinted at another realm. Every house we moved into felt haunted. Looking back, I think it was me that was spiritually sensitive… not the houses.
Being adopted into a family so different from me made my identity blurry. My differences were pointed out constantly, but never understood. I had no mirrors, no one who looked like me energetically or physically.
Everything shifted when my mother finally sent me to Detroit to meet my birth family. Suddenly the presence I always felt grew stronger. The familiarity in their faces, their mannerisms—it was grounding. I could finally see my lineage, my roots, pieces of myself reflected back.
But even then, something felt missing.
That emptiness stayed until I learned who my biological father was.
The fog cleared.
The cloudiness around who I was began to fade.

The Inner World I Built for Survival
I was creative, bossy, expressive. My home life had bright spots, but it also carried stress. To cope, I built whole worlds inside my mind.
Television became an escape.
Books, my portals.
My dolls, my castmates in stories I directed myself.
I was social, always surrounded by friends—but being in other people’s homes, seeing a normal life I didn’t have, sparked envy. I didn’t know the word for it then. I just knew being around other people’s joy made me feel like something was wrong with me for not having the same.
Strict Religion, Early Depression, and the Voice That Saved Me
Growing up in a strict religious setting made me feel starved of normal moments. Everything felt off-limits, like life itself was fenced in.
Whenever depression hit—yes, even as a child—I felt painfully alone.
I wondered when it would end, when things would make sense, when clarity would come.
And then, from the chaos, a voice emerged.
A calm, grandmotherly voice that told me right from wrong.
Guided me.
Comforted me.
I used to think imaginary friends appeared visually, so I kept waiting for some ghostly figure to pop up. I watched Drop Dead Fred imagining something wild would happen. It didn’t.
Instead, the voice stayed.
And thank God it did, because it became the only stability I had.
If this post resonates, let’s stay connected.

The Confirmation That Changed My Entire Childhood Story
In 2015, while pregnant, I received the confirmation I had been waiting on for decades.
A psychic told me:
“There is a spirit that has always been beside you, guiding you.”
And instantly, everything aligned.
All those lonely nights…
All those whispers of intuition…
All those moments I felt watched over…
All those strange spiritual experiences…
None of it was imaginary.
None of it was “crazy.”
None of it was coincidence.
My protector had been with me from the beginning.
The spirit I felt was my grandmother.
And over time, I realized there were others—ancestors, guides, energies that followed me into each chapter.
I was never alone.
I was never unprotected.
I was never without guidance.
Even when the world around me felt unstable, something divine held my hand.
"After visiting a psychic, I had been told that there is a spirit that had always been beside me, guiding me."
